Security Magic, also known as warding, is the Talent of protection. Security Mages are called Warders. They are capable of creating magical shields to protect from any number of things, from physical harm, to magic, to mental intrusion. Many Warders also have passive physical protection preventing their own bodies from receiving damage -- for some Warders, this is the extent of their Talent.
The use of Security Magic to create physical barriers is a closely related ability to telekinesis, and arguably aren't truly separate abilities at all.
