Enchantment is the Talent of imbuing objects (and sometimes people) with magic. It's often grouped under Catalysm.

Enchanting involves using an object as an anchor for a continuous spell effect. Such effects are much more difficult to manage without an anchor and will usually not remain fixed where they are intended to, and so long-term or permanent effects are almost always anchored to an object, location, or person.

A Catalyst might also use an object as a well to contain mana, or mana of a specific type, or to funnel mana into another person.

Much more rarely, an ability seen only in Sardill, is altering a person's very soul in order to change their magical abilities. He used this ability to grant Mind Magic to the teppers[1] and Illusion Magic to the drow.[2]
